Why did they change the ending to the Watchmen?

Okay this sounds picky but I was really disappointed. Why ow why did they change the ending to the The Watchman film.

Spoiler alert! Please do not read on if you have not seen the film or read the comic, it is a great story and this will ruin it.

At the end of the watch man film they make a small change rather than have the have a alien transported into the middle of newyork with an explosion killing thousands, they blame the whole think on Captain Manhatten, now this is still a good ending, it still makes sense. But that is not the point. Why change it? The first ending was better in my opinion and explains things slightly more clearly. I’m guessing and this is completely a guess, that they did not want to draw the similarity to the 9/11.

The whole thing is a little suspect if you ask me. The basic ending of the comic is that a well intentioned super hero blows up New York city in order to rally the people of the world together for peace.

The plot of 9/11 was a ‘well intentioned’ goverment blow up the twin towers in order to rally the people of it’s country into a war agasint Iraq….

Suspect hay!

I have just completed the main bulk of the copy for the vavelta area. I believe it sounds totally more generic after I trimmed all of the excess bulk text.
